Ruby Has and Nanoleaf Teamed Up to Help Fight Covid-19
After a long, hard year, it looks like we are starting to turn the corner on Covid-19. When the pandemic hit in March 2020, hospitals across North America were in urgent need of medical supplies, particularly Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Ruby Has and its client, Nanoleaf, stepped up to help. Between Nanoleaf’s manufacturing infrastructure and Ruby Has’s fulfillment and logistics capabilities, the two companies knew they could quickly ramp up production to supply doctors and nurses with PPE to fight the pandemic.
Typically a light panel manufacturer, Nanoleaf had the infrastructure it needed to shift operations to create PPE instead of lights. While Nanoleaf had the capability to make the masks, they needed a way to deliver them to front line workers. As their third-party logistics provider, Ruby Has quickly jumped on board to offer their fulfillment services to transport the masks via the company’s freight service connections.
To raise funds to make as many masks as possible, Nanoleaf started a GoFundMe page. But to kick off the campaign, Ruby Has and Nanoleaf paid for, donated, and shipped 52,000 masks to areas most in need.
With the addition of donations from friends and clients, Ruby Has and Nanoleaf eventually shipped over 90,000 masks. Way to go, team!
